Dear Nurses,
We understand that our ability to treat others well begins with how we treat each other. We want our skilled and compassionate nurses to feel valued, connected, and empowered. That starts with our core SPIRIT values—Service, Patient-first, Integrity, Respect, Innovation, and Teamwork.
These values guide us in everything we do—including how we react to the recent activity from union organizers on our campus that many of you have reported.
No matter what your opinion might be about unionization, understanding what a union would mean for you, your family, and your work can be confusing. In the coming days you may hear from organizers about what a union could “get” for the nurses here.
You’re also going to hear from us, because we care about our nurses. We are committed to providing you with factual information about your work here and about unionization. We are neither pro-union nor anti-union; we are decidedly on the side of our nurses.
That’s why we are making a pledge to each of you today that in the coming weeks we will uphold our core values and pledge to tell the truth. You can watch a video of us reading the pledge and view the pledge in full below.
